This excellent book describes six stages of faith we have the opportunity to go through. Most Christians make it through the first three stages: 1. Salvation 2. Discipleship and 3. Serving in church or ministry The problem is that we are unknowingly serving by conforming to the outward influences put on us, in order to gain favor and good standing in our Christian community.
Something then comes along to unsettle us, taking us into an unsettling season of questioning in stage 4. This leads us to the “Wall” or the Dark Night of the Soul, where we must let go of getting our worth from what we do, and humble ourselves and allow God to strip out all but Himself. This leads us to stages five and six, were we learn to focus on “being” rather than “doing”, allowing God to fill us up and serving out of the overflow of God’s love.

My life was radically changed when I heard Brian speak and then endeavored to put into practice what he taught. Attached is a word document that contains quotes from this book with a link to how to order it. Quotes from The 12 Week Year by Brian Moran
