Meditate on Psalm 131. Answer the following questions:
- What are areas of my life that I feel are “things too great and too marvelous for me”?
- What does it mean to calm and quiet my soul? How do I do that?
- David uses a word picture of a weaned child with their mother. Describe this. How does it relate to quieting my soul?
Meditate on Psalm 23. In particular, focus on the rhythms of joy and quiet.
Got my textbook last night, been reading it intently, so much of it speaks to my soul, and gladdens my heart. At last, not more discussion of how much I am wounded by my mother’s depression, rejection, judgment, etc., but a way for me to heal from that. Praise the Lord!! I am so thankful this class is being offered, and grateful for the other participants. Thank you.
Linda, we get out of the class what we put into it. You are listening intently, participating in the discussion, reading your material…and most importantly looking to God to give you what you need. It is His delight to answer your prayers in this area! It doesnt happen overnight, but you will see significant growth as you are faithful to do your part in this journey.
