The Equation for Satisfaction

November 7, 2011 By jeff Leave a Comment

On Value and Worth, Part 2 of 4

You may have heard the equation for satisfaction:

Actual Experience – Expectations = Satisfaction

If my expectations are greater than my actual experience, my satisfaction will be a negative number.  Not satisfying.  This is what happens when I try to get my needs met from other people.

If my actual experience is going to the One who created me, if I carve out the time to listen to him and ask Him to meet my deepest needs—this will exceed my expectations!  Then I will be truly satisfied.

Here are some questions you may want to interact with God about:

  • Lord, what do you want me to know about my value and worth?
  • Lord, what do you think of me?
  • What do you want me to know today?
